Many thanks, that has moved it on significantly but still have an error.
Its not picking up the custom request to backup a specified VM:



./xsibackup --backup-point=/vmfs/volumes/datastore1/Backups  --host=10.0.2.230    --remote-xsipath="."   --backup-type=custom --backup-vms="SECURE31-NoCert" --mail-to=a@b.com --use-smtp=1 --backup-prog=vmkfstools

How do I get a Licence key using vmnic1 ( second interface)

I am using vmnic0 for hardened external links and vmnic1 with local lan private addressing for admin/backup etc

I am experiencing a very similar situation but on 10.3.1, have setup the licence file in case that was an issue

Still not working:
